Hello world.  I have come to say that I have failed thee.  But that doesn't mean that I am giving up.  I am getting up once again and taking a swing at losing weight.  Today is the first day of the rest of my life!

Day 11

Today is going pretty good. Same as usual. I went to the gym today and walked for 16 minutes. I found out my target heart rate is 100-150 since I'm 20, so I was trying to stay around 150. I was successful after raising my speed from 2.0 to 2.8. I think I'll start walking 3.0 to make it even. I also worked my back today which was a lot better than working my chest. I didn't reach my limit, but I was burning pretty hard. I know this sounds weird, but I hope I'm a little sore tomorrow to prove to myself that I'm doing it right. I tried to make sure I was using good position/posture. Anyways, it's about to rain so for the rest of the day, I just need to make sure I drink plenty of water and eat small every couple hours. I might start weighing myself every Friday to see improvements. Anyways, wish me luck.

Day 9 Pretty good day

So today went pretty smooth. I woke up early, ate an egg for breakfast, and went to the gym for a while. I walked for 12 minutes, up from 10, and I did some more leg exercises. By the time I was done, my legs were so sore. I think I'm gonna work on a different muscle tomorrow, although I still want to work on my legs. Google is telling me that the muscle that I've been working on is my Quadriceps, which I think people like to call "quads". Maybe tomorrow and the next day I'll work on my hamstrings and walk a bit longer. Hamstrings are apparently the back thigh muscles (anatomy lesson). The truth is I shouldn't have to Google that because I just finished anatomy/lab but I didn't study for the muscle test which is turning out to be the most important lesson. Anyways, in short: Metabolism is high, water is drunk, quads hurt, and spirit is high. Time to drink more water and than go to bed. Have a good night and here's a question for anyone reading this. What other thigh/leg muscles should I work on? Good night.

Day 9 Starting to see results

Yesterday was my first day at the gym. I started small, I don't want to overdo it or else I will be more inclined to give up. All day, I ate every 2-3 hours and I ate small so that my metabolism would raise. I ended up signing a contract at my local gym that says I will pay for an entire year of membership. So since I'm obligated to pay it, I will again be less inclined to give up. I worked out as soon as I got my membership. I walked for 10 minutes and did 3 sets of leg exercises. I also drank my usual amount of water. I was running out of bottles, so I decided to go to Publix to get more, and when I got there I weighed myself. I now weigh 249lb. That's 6lb's down. It's not much, but it's a start. I'm proud of myself and I'm planning on going to the gym again soon to walk for 12-15 minutes. I plan on lengthening it more and more every time I go until I reach 1 hour. Well that's that. I had better start my day. Wish me luck!

Day 6 Gym Membership and metabolism

I found a pretty cool gym in town called the Fitness Factory. I passed by today but they were closed to nonmembers. I'm going to go by and start a membership on Monday if not tomorrow. It's open 24 hours so I could exercise at midnight if I wanted to. I didn't want to exercise outside because it was about 97 degrees which is too hot for me. I did however start eating small meals every 2 hours. Two of my meals were half of a smoothie and since I ate an egg for breakfast, I wasn't hungry at all. I guess that really works. I learned that if I want to lose weight, I shouldn't JUST do cardio. If I lift weights, my metabolism will go up which is what I'm shooting for. Wish me luck!
